Regain Hearing team
Akshay Chauhan
Registered Hearing Aid Dispenser
Akshay brings a distinct, dual perspective to hearing and communication health, backed by a Bachelor’s degree in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. Driven by a genuine passion for restoring human connection, his career is built on a holistic understanding of how hearing and speech intersect. With a primary focus on both adult and paediatric care, Akshay is dedicated to improving hearing health and delivering tailored rehabilitation that helps patients of all ages communicate with confidence and clarity.
Over five years of practice as a consultant in audiology and speech therapy, Akshay has managed a wide spectrum of clinical needs. His career spans both public and private sectors, combining full-time clinical service within the NHS with part-time practice in private audiology. This dual background has shaped a highly versatile clinical style, merging the diagnostic rigour and structured care of public healthcare with the personalised, client-centred approach of private practice.
Expanding on his clinical foundation, Akshay earned a Master of Science in Public Health from London Metropolitan University. This unique combination of clinical expertise and public health knowledge enables him to view hearing care through a broader lens, connecting immediate diagnostic solutions with long-term health, accessibility, and overall quality of life.
Now continuing his clinical journey at Regain, Akshay remains focused on delivering compassionate, evidence-based rehabilitation. Whether guiding children through early auditory milestones or supporting adults navigating complex hearing loss, his approach is rooted in empathy, precision, and an unwavering commitment to helping every patient feel heard, supported, and understood.
Outside the clinic, Akshay stays active on the sports field as an avid cricket and badminton player, games that match his focus, energy, and teamwork. In quieter moments, he enjoys sketching and relaxing with car racing games and classic nostalgia like GTA Vice City, a creative outlet that reflects the same fine attention to detail and patience he brings to his clinical practice.

Meet the hearing professionals and practice team who can help you regain your hearing
What is a hearing aid dispenser, and what do they do?
Highly qualified consultants, like the members of our team, work with people of all ages suffering from hearing loss, afflictions like tinnitus, and even disorders caused by the parts of the ear that assist with balance. Becoming a private hearing professional of the calibre you’ll find at our ear clinics requires an exceptional degree of professional competence, great communication skills, empathy and understanding.
The Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) is the regulatory body overseeing many health and care professionals, including hearing aid dispensers. They keep a register of professionals who meet and uphold the rigorous HCPC standards for training, skills, behaviour, and health. They protect the public from malpractice by ensuring professionals who the HCPC regulates have their titles protected by law.
In every Regain Hearing ear clinic located throughout London and Kent, private hearing aid dispensers meet the HCPC’s exacting standards. Highly experienced professionals staff our clinics, and our practice is run by professionals who are leaders in their field, noted for developing innovative new techniques and programmes for dealing with tinnitus and hearing loss.
Aside from the skills to thoroughly assess, diagnose, and treat tinnitus, hearing loss, and other ear-related complaints, in less usual circumstances, our private hearing aid dispensers can make referrals to other relevant healthcare professionals, such as ENT (ear, nose, and throat) specialists.
