What is an Invisible In Canal (IIC) Hearing Aid?

Traditional hearing aids were often bulky and noticeable, leading to self-consciousness and social stigma. IIC hearing aids have changed this, offering a discreet and effective way to improve hearing. These invisible devices provide enhanced confidence and quality of life.

A recent study found 40% of people would be more likely to wear a hearing aid if it were invisible, leading to the development of Invisible in the Canal (IIC) models.

Similar to Completely in the Canal (CIC) aids but smaller and worn deeper in the ear, IIC devices are entirely invisible, even when viewed directly.

Would the IIC suit you?

Completely Invisible
The device is hidden entirely inside the ear canal, with only a tiny, difficult-to-see wire visible.
Cosmetic Appeal
Blends seamlessly with the ear’s natural contours, making it virtually invisible to others, helping users feel more confident and avoiding attention in social settings.
No Visible Controls
Adjustments are made with an external device, keeping the hearing aid’s appearance clean and discreet.
Comfortable to Wear
Custom-molded to the ear canal, the hearing aids rest against a slight bony protrusion, providing a secure, comfortable fit with no movement.
Natural Sound Direction
Positioned deeply within the ear, users can still naturally detect the direction of sounds, as the outer ear continues to funnel sound into the ear canal.
Natural Sound Quality
The hearing aid amplifies sounds as they naturally enter the ear, maintaining a natural sound profile.
Reduced Wind Noise
The in-ear placement eliminates wind noise distractions, ensuring a clearer listening experience.
Unobtrusive for Active Lifestyles
Because the hearing aids sit completely inside the ear, they don’t interfere with wearing helmets, headphones, or headgear, making them ideal for people with active lifestyles. They also work well with regular phone use.
