Tone test

Now for the listening part

We'll play 5 tones, each at a different frequency. Press play for each one and tell us honestly whether you could hear it. There's no right or wrong, just answer what you experience.

Make sure your headphones are on and you're in a quiet place. The tones can be subtle. That's the point.

Could ear wax be a factor?

The fact that you've taken this test tells us something. Most people don't go looking for answers unless something has been bothering them, even if they can't quite put their finger on what. Ear wax is one of the most common and most overlooked causes of muffled hearing, a blocked feeling, and tinnitus, and most people have no idea it's there. A quick otoscopy inspection takes a few minutes and can rule it out completely. If wax is found, we can remove it on the same visit.

Otoscopy inspection (check only) £29
Microsuction removal, one ear £59
Microsuction removal, both ears £79
Appointment where no wax is found £29
